About Paul R. Eikeland

Money became personal for me at a young age.

Two days after my 16th birthday, my dad passed away. Losing him was hard enough, but watching my mom carry the financial pressure that followed left a lasting mark on me. I learned early that money is not just about numbers, investments, or accounts. It is about protection, responsibility, family, and the people left behind when life does not go according to plan.

That experience shaped how I think about my own family today. As a husband and father, I care deeply about building something strong enough to protect, support, and serve the people I love.

In 2011, my friend Richard handed me a copy of Becoming Your Own Banker by R. Nelson Nash. That book started me on a new personal journey in how I viewed and handled money. It challenged the way I thought about cash flow, savings, debt, financing, protection, and long-term control. More importantly, it gave me language and structure for something I had cared about since I was 16: how families can build more control before life forces them to need it.

Since then, my family and I have continued building our own system. When my wife and I got married, we added policies on her. As our family grew, we added policies on our daughters, and we have continued learning how to use the system in real life. Over the years, we have used our policies for vehicle purchases, home renovations, business expenses, family trips, tax bills, car insurance, and other major expenses that most families face along the way

Infinite Banking is not just an idea I explain to clients. It is something my own family has been learning, practicing, and growing into over time. It has helped us think differently about how money moves through our home, how we prepare for opportunities, how we handle expenses, and how we build with the next generation in mind.

Before joining the team at Ascendant, I worked almost 2 decades in the construction industry and spent 10 years working for a nonprofit, serving youth, families, and my local community. I saw how much pressure people carry quietly. The financial stress, family responsibilities, uncertainty about the future, and the desire to do more for the people they love.

When the opportunity arose to help others discover the Infinite Banking Concept, I jumped at the chance. Today, I help families, business owners, and nonprofits think differently about money through principles that have shaped my own life and family. My goal is to make the process clear, practical, and personal, so clients can build more control over their cash flow, protect what matters, and make long-term decisions with greater confidence.

For me, this work is about more than financial products. It is about family, stewardship, responsibility, and helping people build a better financial future with intention for their families and their business’.

I currently live just outside of Edmonton in the town of Stony Plain with my wife, two daughters, and son. When I am not spending time with family and friends or helping others discover the power of Infinite Banking, you can find me running, meeting new people, reading a good book, or involved at my local church.

Who I Work Best With

I work best with people who are curious, teachable, and looking for a better way to think about money, protection, control, and legacy.

My ideal clients are not looking for a quick product or a one-time transaction. They want to understand how money really moves through their family, business, farm, or nonprofit organization. They are willing to ask better questions, think long-term, build patiently over time, and take ownership of their financial future.

I especially enjoy working with:

  • Clients with an open mindset who value education and want a long-term coach who listens, guides and helps them build patiently over time.
  • Families, parents, and grandparents who want to protect what matters most and build something meaningful for future generations. This may include life insurance, critical illness protection, disability protection, education planning, legacy planning, or building a family financial system where more money, wisdom, and responsibility can stay within the family.
  • Young families and first-time homebuyers who are making major financial decisions and want to build a strong foundation. Buying a home, starting a family, taking on debt, and protecting income are big steps. I help clients think through protection, cash flow, savings, and how to make wise decisions before life gets more complicated.
  • Business owners and entrepreneurs who want more control over cash flow. They may need money for equipment, expansion, opportunities, slow seasons, taxes, emergencies, or a place to store retained earnings. They want to build a financial tool they can access instead of relying only on banks or outside lenders.
  • Farmers and farm families who want to keep more control of money on the farm. Farming often requires large purchases, operating loans, equipment financing, and constant cash flow decisions. My goal is to help farm families build a system that gives them more options over time — and maybe even start firing the bankers one tractor, truck, or piece of equipment at a time.
  • Professionals who earn good income but feel like too much money disappears through taxes, debt payments, interest, lifestyle costs, and poor savings systems. They want a clearer plan for protecting income, building savings, using their money more intentionally, and making better decisions with the assets they already have.
  • People with existing savings, investments, or assets who want to make more intentional choices. For some clients, this may include exploring segregated funds and estate planning considerations.
  • Nonprofit leaders and generous families who care about giving, stewardship, and making a bigger impact. They want to support causes they believe in while still protecting their own family and making wise long-term financial decisions.

The people I work best with care deeply about doing what is right, protecting what has been entrusted to them, and building a financial future rooted in responsibility, stewardship, and strong family values.

What You Can Expect When Working With Me

Working with me begins with education.

I believe people make better decisions when they understand what they are doing and why they are doing it. My role is not to pressure you into a product. My role is to guide you in your learning about understanding how money is currently flowing through your life, where control may be leaking away, and how the Infinite Banking Concept may help you build a more intentional financial system over time.

You can expect a process that is clear, practical, and personal.

Education First

We begin by helping you understand the core principles of the Infinite Banking Concept and how they apply to your life, family, business, farm, or nonprofit organization.

This includes looking at how you currently use banks, loans, savings, debt, financing, insurance, and cash flow.

The goal is not to overwhelm you. The goal is to help the lightbulb come on.

Discovery and Conversation

Before making recommendations, I want to understand your situation. We will talk about your goals, family, business, cash flow, debt, savings, protection needs, and long-term priorities.

This is where the work becomes personal. No two families, businesses, farms, or organizations are exactly the same, so the strategy should not be generic.

Strategic Design

If the concept is a fit, we design a strategy around your actual life.

We will walk through premium structure, long-term funding capacity, protection needs, and how the policy could be used as part of your personal, family, or business banking system.

The design should support your goals, fit your cash flow, and make sense for where you are today while giving you room to grow over time.

Implementation

Once the strategy is clear, I help guide you through the application and implementation process. You will know what is happening, why it matters, and what steps come next.

My goal is to make the process understandable, not intimidating.

Ongoing Coaching

Infinite Banking is not something you “buy” once and forget about. It is a process you learn, practice, and grow into over time.

As your life changes, your family grows, your business develops, or new opportunities come up, we continue the conversation. I want clients to feel supported, educated, and confident as they learn to use their system more effectively.
